EPW - Jno Taylor, London (numerous possibilities), verge fusee coach watch, 79mm, gilt tombac alloy OF original pair cases, the engraved outer with garnet-set bezel, KWKS, WED, verge escapement, gilt mvt with pierced & engraved foliate scrolled balance cock, large DES, signed raised gilt locking dust-cap, s#1163. Gross weight of assembled watch 186.6 dwt (290.2 g).
CONDITION:
Mvt: NR, no chain, contrate wheel sits too low and bypasses the escape wheel, when lifted into engagement there is some escapement function, plates show excellent gilding, little oxide on steel components; dial hls from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8, some scratches; excellent beetle hour hand, minute replaced; original outer case shows little wear, gilding loss, few MFS, no dents or dings; button latch good; original inner case shows less wear, some MFS, no dents or dings; bow & pendant original; missing 55.6mm crystal.
